Poor fit, extra installation costs and no satisfactory resolution

I bought a Terrafirma TF281 wheel arch kit for my 2012 Defender 110. Communication was initially friendly, but the experience has been very disappointing. The advertised fixings were missing. The seller acknowledged the listing error and subsequently dispatched rivets. After professional installation, the arches leave visible gaps and short ends. My before-and-after photographs show that the original white arches finished substantially flush with the lower body edges, whereas the replacements do not. The workshop verbally attributed the additional fitting work to poor fit and excessive tension. Installation took four hours instead of approximately one, resulting in €420 in additional labour costs. The seller relies on the manufacturer’s suggestion that repositioning might help, but has not explained how this would correct both ends simultaneously on my vehicle. They now offer an inspection return, with a refund only if they and the manufacturer find the parts non-conforming. This requires removing all four fitted arches, with removal and refitting costs unresolved. My request for compensation was rejected. I understand that a seller needs to investigate a complaint, but the photographs and specific fitment concerns deserve a more convincing response. So far, I am left with an unsatisfactory result, additional costs and no agreed solution.

2 out of 5 stars – Good communication, disappointing product

The correspondence so far has been friendly and prompt. However, the Terrafirma TF281 wheel arch extensions delivered for my 2012 Defender 110 Td4 have been a huge disappointment. A Defender specialist workshop needed four hours instead of the estimated one to replace them due to the poor fit. This resulted in €420 in additional labor costs. The intended plastic rivets didn't hold due to the high tension on the parts, so the workshop had to use aluminum rivets. Even so, visible gaps remain, and the ends are too short. For a set advertised as a perfect fit, the result is unacceptable in my opinion. The complaint is still pending; a final resolution is not yet available.
